LHUSD Staff Recognition and Awards

 

LHUSD and our community takes pride in the our teachers and staff.

 

  • Our Staff Recognition Program recognizes the extraordinary contributions made by teachers and staff every day to improve the lives of students in Lake Havasu City.  To honor their work, we invite community members, parents, colleagues, and students to nominate a teacher or support staff member who they feel deserves this special recognition. 

 

 


 

2018-2019 Teacher/Staff of the Year Awards

The selected teachers and staff were honored on May 16, 2019, at the Lake Havasu Area Chamber of Commerce Mixer, at which each site’s Teacher of the Year, Rookie Teacher of the Year and Staff of the Year was recognized during a reception attended by honorees’ families, friends, students, colleagues, and community members to celebrate this special honor. 

Award winners

Staff Member: Tammie Dutton, Nurse - Thunderbolt

Rookie: Beka Kent, Oro Grande

Nautilus: Trisha Konen

Havasupai: Olivia Robison

Smoketree: Roseann Hagen

Jamaica: Liane Stancil

Starline: Lori Felish

Oro Grande: Carol Nowakowski

Thunderbolt: Jen Black

High School: Carmen Domek

 

District Teacher of the Year: Roseann Hagen.  The LHUSD Teacher of the Year will be nominated for the Arizona Rural Teacher of the Year through Arizona Rural Schools Association.

The 2018-2019 Teacher of the Year will have a menu item named after her at Mudshark Brewery and won the use of a new car for a year from Bradley Chevrolet and Ford.

 


 

2017-2018 Teacher/Staff of the Year Awards

The selected teachers and staff were honored on May 17, 2018, at the Lake Havasu Area Chamber of Commerce Mixer, at which each site’s Teacher of the Year, Rookie Teacher of the Year and Staff of the Year was recognized during a reception attended by honorees’ families, friends, students, colleagues, and community members to celebrate this special honor.

At the reception, District Teacher of the Year was announced.  The LHUSD Teacher of the Year will be nominated for the Arizona Rural Teacher of the Year through Arizona Rural Schools Association.

Tara Smith, the 2017-2018 Teacher of the Year won a $250 gift card from Mudshark, will have a menu item named after her, and won the use of a new car for a year from Anderson Toyota.
