Application Requirements

 

Certified Applicants

Certified applicants include teacher, counselor, and speech language pathologist. In order for your application to be reviewed by an administrator for an existing opening, you will need to complete and submit the following:

  • Resumé
  • Arizona Teacher Certificate or evidence that you are in the process of obtaining a certificate from the Arizona Department of Education. Out of state teaching certificates are not accepted. You must obtain a reciprocal Arizona Teaching Certificate issued by the Arizona Department of Education. For certification requirements and information on the certification application process, please contact the Arizona Department of Education at 602.542.4367.
  • Official Transcripts
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Three professional references (one of which must be your most recent employer)A copy of your Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Clearance Card
    • Note: letters of recommendation and references may not be from the same professional associates.

Completed applications are screened by LHUSD #1 administrators. Applicants are selected and contacted by district personnel. Your application will remain active for one year from the date submitted or updated.

 

Administrative Applicants

In order for your application to be reviewed by an administrator for an existing opening, you will need to provide the following:

Support Staff Applicants

Support staff positions include nurse, paraprofessional, office worker, maintenance, transportation, and technology support. In order for your application to be reviewed by an administrator for an existing opening, you will need to provide the following:

  • Resume
  • High School Diploma, GED, or official transcripts (if required for salary placement)
  • TESTING - is required for the following positions in order to complete the application process.
    • Paraprofessional – if you do not have a two or four year degree or sixty credit hours, you will be required to pass a state approved test.
    • Office – any clerical position (office assistant, administrative assistant, receptionist, attendance, staff assistant, etc). Depending on position, these tests include, but are not limited to use of Microsoft Office 2007 components (Word, Excel, Outlook, Windows, PowerPoint, Access), typing, and filing. Tests take approximately 2 hours to complete.

Medical Applicants

Medical applicants include nurse, occupational therapist, and physical therapist. In order for your application to be reviewed by an administrator for an existing opening, you will need to provide the following:

  • Resume
  • Official Transcripts
  • Appropriate state licensure

Completed applications are screened by LHUSD #1 administrators. Applicants are selected and contacted by district personnel. Your application will remain active for one year from the date submitted or updated.

 

Substitutes

Offers of Employment

Offers of employment are not finalized until the selected candidate is contacted by the Lake Havasu Unified School District Personnel Department and the hiring is approved by the Lake Havasu Unified School District Governing Board. Salary decisions and discussions are handled by the Personnel Department. Offers of employment are contingent upon a clear background check, fingerprint clearance, and checked references with previous employers/supervisors. Support staff employees will be required to submit fingerprints prior to beginning employment with us.
